Sleeping Bear Farms Tupelo Honey 1 lb Jar — Raw White Ogeechee, FSU-Certified, Light Buttery Flavor

Sleeping Bear Farms Raw Tupelo Honey is a single-origin, minimally processed White Ogeechee Tupelo honey in a 1 lb jar, independently verified by Florida State University for authenticity.

Harvested each spring from hives placed deep inside the river swamps of Northwest Florida, this Tupelo honey captures the short-lived White Ogeechee Tupelo bloom. The result is a light, buttery-floral honey prized for its silky texture and an unusual tendency to remain liquid longer than most honeys. Sleeping Bear Farms brings together over four decades of family beekeeping with third-party pollen analysis, so you get a genuine varietal honey in every jar.

What makes this Tupelo honey different from regular honey?

White Ogeechee Tupelo nectar is produced during a narrow annual bloom window, and its floral profile is unique to the Florida river swamp environment. The honey has a subtle, buttery sweetness and a smooth finish that sets it apart from multi-floral or commercial blends. Minimal handling preserves delicate volatile flavors and the natural clarity of the honey.

• Single-origin from White Ogeechee Tupelo trees in Northwest Florida river swamps
• Light, buttery-floral flavor with a clean finish
• Minimal processing to retain aroma and texture
• Higher natural fructose content helps delay crystallization

How is authenticity verified for this jar?

Sleeping Bear Farms submits every harvest batch for independent pollen analysis at Florida State University to confirm Tupelo origin. That scientific verification helps ensure the jar contains primarily White Ogeechee Tupelo nectar rather than blended or mislabeled honey. Batch testing is part of the brand’s transparency and traceability efforts.

• Each batch undergoes FSU pollen analysis for varietal verification
• Lab results confirm the presence of Tupelo pollen and provenance
• Traceable harvest dates tied to the spring bloom
• Clear labeling reflecting FSU certification

How should I use and store this raw Tupelo honey?

This honey is versatile in the kitchen and keeps best at room temperature to preserve its fluid texture. Use it to sweeten tea, drizzle over yogurt or toast, or incorporate into dressings and marinades for a refined floral note. Avoid heating above typical recipe temperatures if you want to preserve delicate flavor compounds.

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
• Keep jar tightly sealed to maintain freshness
• Stir gently if any minor separation occurs—does not usually crystallize quickly
• Perfect for spooning, drizzling, and finishing dishes

Why choose the 1 lb jar size?

The 1 lb jar is ideal for first-time buyers or those who want to sample authentic Tupelo without committing to a larger supply. It’s also a convenient gift size or travel-friendly jar for cooks and honey enthusiasts. The amount balances everyday use with preserving the unique seasonal character of the harvest.

• Compact and gift-ready 1 lb glass jar
• Suitable for families or gifting without long-term storage
• Small enough to keep rotation fresh across seasons
• Clear jar displays honey color and clarity

Who is this for? This product suits anyone curious about varietal American honey, cooks and bakers seeking a mellow, floral sweetener, and buyers who value provenance and lab verification. If you prefer minimally processed, single-origin foods and want a reliable, small-batch Tupelo honey backed by independent pollen testing, the Sleeping Bear Farms 1 lb jar delivers authentic taste and traceability.
