Prima Gourmet Spices Cayenne Pepper Powder 5 lb Jug — 60,000 SHU Extra-Hot, Fine Grind

Prima Spice Cayenne Pepper Powder is a 5 lb bulk, extra-hot ground red pepper (60,000 SHU) packed fresh in the USA for cooking, rubs, and commercial use.

Bring concentrated heat and bright red color to your kitchen with this large-format cayenne pepper jug from Prima Gourmet Spices. Milled to deliver an intense 60,000 Scoville heat level—about 20% hotter than typical cayenne—this all-natural, gluten-free, kosher and non-GMO powder is designed for busy home cooks, professional chefs, and bulk users who want consistent, potent spice without additives. The five-pound container with a handle makes measuring, refilling, and storage efficient in any cooking environment.

How will this cayenne powder change my everyday cooking?

Use a small pinch to add lively heat and a red hue to sauces, stews, soups, and dressings without altering texture. Because this powder is finely milled and freshly packed, it blends easily and disperses uniform heat throughout dishes. It’s especially useful in rubs and marinades where concentrated spice is needed.

• 60,000 SHU for stronger, predictable heat per measure
• Fine grind that integrates smoothly into liquids and dry mixes
• Large 5 lb jug reduces refill frequency in busy kitchens
• Ideal for stews, chilis, rubs, dressings, and homemade spice blends

Is this product safe for restricted diets and professional kitchens?

Yes—Prima Spice cayenne comes with Kosher certification and is labeled gluten-free and non-GMO, making it compatible with a range of dietary needs and commercial requirements. The straightforward ingredient list (100% ground red pepper) helps kitchens avoid cross-ingredient concerns, and the bulk packaging meets demand without frequent repackaging.

• Kosher-certified and gluten-free for dietary compliance
• Non-GMO, vegan-friendly ingredient profile
• Bulk packaging reduces handling and keeps supply consistent
• Packed fresh in the USA to maintain aroma and potency

How should I store and measure a 5 lb jug in a busy kitchen?

Keep the jug in a cool, dark, dry place and seal it tightly after each use to preserve color and heat. For portion control, use a dedicated measuring spoon or scale; the concentrated 60,000 SHU means smaller amounts achieve more heat than store-standard cayenne.

• Store away from light and moisture to retain color and flavor
• Use a scoop or scale for consistent dosing in recipes
• Transfer a small amount to a shaker for everyday counter use
• Bulk handle makes refilling spice containers quick and clean

Can this cayenne be used for non-culinary purposes like pest deterrence?

Yes—ground cayenne is commonly used around gardens and outdoor areas as an animal deterrent. Sprinkling a ring around vulnerable spots can discourage many animals without chemicals; avoid applying where it might harm desirable plants or come into contact with pets’ food.

• Effective deterrent for many common garden animals
• Natural alternative to chemical repellents when used responsibly
• Apply sparingly and avoid direct contact with edible plant parts
• Store separately from food area if used for outdoor deterrent purposes
