Brodies Estd 1867 Scottish Breakfast Tea is a brisk black tea blend of Assam and Kenya, packaged as 50 tea bags in a single canister for a robust morning cup.

This classic Scottish breakfast blend brings together carefully chosen Assam and Kenyan black teas to deliver a bright, malty cup designed to wake up the palate. Sourced and blended by Brodies — a brand with roots in Scotland going back to 1867 — the blend emphasizes clarity, strength, and consistency across every tea bag. The product is Fairtrade certified and presented in a protective canister with fifty individually steepable bags for everyday use.

What is in this tea and why does it taste bright?

The flavor profile comes from a combination of Assam leaves, known for their full-bodied malty notes, and Kenyan teas that add briskness and clean, lively character. Together they create a cup that stands up well to milk and sugar while remaining flavorful when brewed plain. The blend is designed for a dependable, invigorating brew each morning.

• Blend composition: Assam and Kenya black teas.
• Taste notes: malty base with brisk, bright top notes.
• Suitable additions: milk, lemon, or sweetener without losing character.

How should I brew Brodies Scottish Breakfast for best results?

Use freshly boiled water and steep one tea bag for 3–5 minutes depending on desired strength. Longer steeping yields a stronger, more robust cup that pairs well with milk; shorter infusions preserve a brighter, cleaner flavor for those who prefer plain tea. The canister helps keep the bags dry and aromatic until use.

• Water temperature: just off a rolling boil.
• Steep time: 3 minutes for bright, 5 minutes for full strength.
• Serves well with milk, a splash of lemon, or as-is.

Is this tea ethically sourced and how is it packaged?

Brodies Scottish Breakfast Tea is Fairtrade certified, reflecting a commitment to ethical sourcing practices for the growers in its supply chain. The 50 tea bags come in a sturdy canister that preserves freshness and makes storage convenient. Brodies’ long history in blending and roasting underpins their sourcing and quality controls.

• Certification: Fairtrade since 1998.
• Packaging: reusable canister with 50 tea bags.
• Heritage: Brodies blending experience dating back to 1867.
